The Wildlife from last week

What a great week of wildlife last week - hopefully this week will bring the same great sightings (and maybe a wee bit more sunshine!!)

We started the week with one of the best Minke Whale Sightings yet, and things did not go down hill! More and more common seal pups sighted each day, and wonderful glimpses of the Sea Eagle Chick too!!

Red Deer Stags, Golden Eagles, Gannets, Guillemots, Kittiwakes, Grey Seals, Fallow Deer, Shags, Oyster Catchers, Canada Geese and Goslings and plenty of gulls and their chicks too!

Not to mention the porpoise, who have been uncharacteristically inquisitive this week allowing us some great sightings (and a few go’s at getting photos during their speedy breech out of the water!)

The Sun is set to stay…

With glorious weather at the moment, and no sign of it changing (fingers crossed) the sights from our wildlife trip are getting better and better!

Our most popular tour is fantastic rain or shine, but it is special to see the glint in the sea, and the blue sky!

We are also having some of our best wildlife sightings too - with a nesting pair of White Tailed Sea Eagles and a possible Golden Eagle nest, Red and Fallow Deer, Seals, Gannets and a surprise visit from a group of Puffins this week has been no exception.

Skipper Steve, who has worked with us for many years said “the trip its self was a wonder - as it always is” about today trip!

Here are some of his favorite photos from today:

If you would like to join us on one of our Corryvreckan Wildlife Trips please do give us a call on 01852 300003!

Dolphins in Easdale Sound!

Yesterday was just another normal working day, it was dull and misty - looking out of the window was grey and uninspiring. Then all of a sudden we caught a glimpse of what could only have been 2 dolphin whizzing through Easdale Sound. We brushed it off as a wave, thinking that it wouldn’t have been anything else!!

Then again something popped up in what was calm water! It was 3 dolphin! They arrived in Easdale sound at around 14:30, and stayed and played with Easdale Ferry, and the Seafari Dingy for hours.

When we left work at 17:45 they were still in the sound playing in the wake of the ferry!

We are so lucky to have such graceful wildlife in the area, join us on a Corryvreckan Wildlife Trip to see what you can see in the wildlife filled Firth of Lorne!

Give us a call on 01852 300 003

Easter Escapes

Do you need ideas of what to do this Easter Weekend? Why not join Seafari Adventures on one of our great trips!

Corryvreckan Wildlife Trip

This is a great family trip, one of our most popular! The two hour trip gives you the chance to see a plethora of wildlife such as dolphin, seals, porpoise, red deer, golden eagles, white tailed sea eagles and many types of seabirds.

This trip departs daily on our open boats. A crew member will give you commentary on the area and the wildlife you see.

Whirlpool Specials

Saturday 7th 07:00

Sunday 8th 07:45

Monday 9th 08:20

Tuesday 10th 09:05

These trips are tied in with the high spring tides to see the whirlpools at their best – we go out just after high water so that there is a lot of flowing water to create the best whirlpools. This is a great adrenaline filled trip to see nature at her best.

Iona and Staffa

We hope to get out to Iona and Staffa on our Cabin boat on Thursday the 12th April, this is a wonderful full day trip which allows you to explore the mystical isle of Iona, one of the most important Christian sites in Argyll. We also include a non-landing visit to Staffa to see the impressive basalt columns.

Colonsay

Our day trips to Colonsay depart on a Tuesday, we head straight over to this jewel of an island hopefully with some great wildlife sightings along the way. You then have 5 hours ashore to explore Colonsay, on foot, on a minibus tour or on hired bikes.

There is The Colonsay Pantry for refreshments, snacks and lunches too.

We hope to run all of these trips this Easter, and would love you to join us too. For more information please call 01852 300 003, or e-mail oban@seafari.co.uk/oban
